Bromwich Hall Alive - Medieval Mayhem and historical encampment
Manor House, Hall Green Road, West Bromwich, West Midlands, B71 2EA
Join us in the grounds and Great Hall of Bromwich Hall Museum and travel back 600 years to the late medieval period and the Wars of the Roses. Buckingham's Retinue historical interpretation group will be setting up camp in the grounds and bringing the site to life where visitors can see knights and ladies, weapons displays, learn about weapons and armour, take part in knight school, and see medieval soldiers fighting with their combat display, join in a medieval dance, watch cooking displays, see a short medieval play, have a go at playing medieval games, learn about medieval medicine and clothes and meet the Lord of the Manor and his horse!
You can decorate your own medieval tile to take home £1 and try our discovery trail, try on some medieval clothes, have a go at fun archery and play with old toys and games.
A timetable for the day will be available on our Facebook page @sandwellmuseums a few days before the event but the knights fighting will be towards the end of the event.
Bromwich Hall was once the home of the Lords of the Manor of West Bromwich and the earliest parts date back to the 1270s.

The encampment is pushchair friendly but we ask that pushchairs are left outside the main building. There is parking on site. As long as the grass is dry the ground is flat and accessible, the Great Hall is accessible for those with mobility issues and a virtual tour is available.
