Explore one of Britain’s earliest model villages, built for Price’s Candle Factory workers, and enjoy rare access to historic buildings, fascinating artefacts and stories of Victorian innovation, community life, architecture and social reform.

A vast selection of artefacts and historical photos of life in the village

The duration of guided tour - approximately 1½ hours to walk 1 mile. The guided tour must be pre-booked.

People are also welcome to collect a map from the café and view the buildings and do the tour themselves. Duration of self-guided tour - variable (at your own pace). The self-guided tour doesn't require pre-booking.

Limited disabled access on tours due to kerbs and pavements.
