Buildwas Holy Trinity Church is again going to be open for the annual Ride + Stride fundraising event. Come and visit to find out more about our fascinating history and our close ties to Ironbridge Gorge, where the Industrial Revolution started.

Ride+Stride is always the second Saturday in September, so it's on Saturday 13th September for 2025.

This is a national event organised by the National Churches Trust (NCT) which Shropshire Historic Churches Trust (SHCT) co-ordinate in the Shropshire region.

Our church will be open 1000 - 1800 on the day. Come and find out more about our fascinating history and our close connections to Ironbridge Gorge nearby, where the Industrial Revolution started. You can also find out more about our conservation efforts of both our churchyard (including our wildflower meadow for our rare slowworms), and our church bell tower: www.buildwaschurchrestoration.org

The full register of churches open on the day is on the SHCT website here: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1Fkd7_4LMNeKV76RLXlJPuEsLr7ELpfJR

Ride+Stride is the biggest annual event for SHCT and has 2 main objectives:

1. A day of welcome – a type of ‘Open Day’ when our church is open, with light refreshments (tea / coffee / biscuits / cake) and someone available to talk about the history of our church

2. A fundraiser - our church members are sponsored to take part in Ride + Stride, visiting other churches, and we receive 50% of the proceeds from sponsorship (and SHCT keep the other 50% for their great work providing grants for the upkeep / renovation of our churches in Shropshire).
