Mill Hill Chapel, City Square, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS1 5EB
Step inside our Grade II* listed dissenting gothic chapel in the heart of Leeds for an afternoon of exploration and creative reflection.
On Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st September, 1–4 pm, Mill Hill Unitarian Chapel (City Square, LS1 5EB) opens its doors to welcome you into our beautiful space where history, spirituality, and community meet.
Follow a trail of intricate stone carvings—faces, leaves, and curious details—that have watched over this site for generations. Pause to take in the chapel’s striking stained-glass windows, including work by the William Morris Company, casting light onto our Yorkshire stone.
Alongside exploring the chapel's carvings, you can sit down to a variety of creative activities. You’ll be invited to paint your own journey stone with a message of kindness to send out into the world—a powerful act of reflection and connection, linking your visit to a wider story.
For more than 350 years, people have gathered here in the heart of Leeds for conversation, worship, and community. Today, Mill Hill Chapel remains an active site of progressive faith and welcome, quietly offering space to pause and create in the midst of the city’s busy streets.
