Timed to coincide with the unveiling of the first public statue of trailblazing politician, Jennie Lee, and the 60th anniversary of her pioneering White Paper that led to the establishment of The Open University, this special event marks an important moment in recognising her legacy and connection to Milton Keynes.
With a range of speakers including Jennie Lee sculptor, Andy Edwards, this event will offer space to reflect on Lee’s enduring impact on education, politics and social change, and her relationship with the University she helped to shape.
All with an interest in Jennie Lee are warmly invited to celebrate this remarkable woman.
The event will be delivered in a hybrid format, allowing people to take part in the way that suits them best. The in-person event will be held in the Berrill Lecture Theatre at the OU’s Milton Keynes campus, offering the opportunity to engage with fellow attendees. Online tickets will also be available.
