Hidden away behind the village hall in the High Street, this Edwardian timber and corrugated iron men’s club has been lovingly restored and converted into a community museum by Codicote Local History Society, open a few days each year.

There will be a variety of displays and a chance to look through an archive of old photographs of the area, as well as discussing the area’s history with local experts. Just for today, there will be a selection of guided walks during the afternoon around the parish and village, a former mediaeval market town. Publications about the area and light refreshments will be on sale, and there will be a second-hand bookstall. There will also be a chance to see finds from our recent community archaeology test pits.
