Conservation in Action with The Living Barracks
The Store House, Berwick Barracks, Ravensdowne, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, TD15 1DF
Come along to see what’s on the conservation table and chat to our on-site conservator and volunteer team as they repackage and document items from Berwick Museum's collection. It could be anything.
The Living Barracks Project is a partnership between English Heritage, The Maltings (Berwick) Trust, Kings Own Scottish Borderers, Northumberland County Council and BBHT. It is breathing new life into Berwick’s historic Barracks, restoring their place at the heart of the town’s cultural and community life. Ahead of the site’s full reopening in 2028, an inspiring programme of art, heritage and community projects is already unfolding - created with and for the people of Berwick, thanks to the generous support of The National Lottery Heritage Fund and the UK Government’s Cultural Development Fund. Together, we’re rediscovering what the Barracks have been, will be and could become.
