Everyday Histories Family History Discovery - Trace Your Roots at the Schoolhouse
Ever wondered who your ancestors were or where your family story began? Visit our old Schoolhouse and with the help of our experienced archive volunteers, explore your own family history. If you're local to the area, we may even find traces of your family and past within our unique archive! Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced researcher, this is a wonderful opportunity to discover new connections to the past.
Heritage Open Days at Cotesbach invite visitors of all ages to uncover the people, places and connections that have shaped our local heritage.

Accessibility details

There are some uneven surfaces in the Yard and a short walk from the car park. Accessible parking is available but we cannot guarantee a space.

Additional information

GUIDED TOURS will assemble by the mosaic in front of the Glasshouse, leaving at 11.00am and 1.30pm (max 20 persons, max four per party otherwise please contact us in advance) . Please check in with volunteers in the Glasshouse first. If you have not booked in advance, please ask our volunteers who will advise as to whether there is still space available. The Yard Cafe will be open 9.30-3.30 in the Stable Yard, also home to O&Co Blacksmiths, Jasons Butchers and Idle Torque (please refer separately to business opening times).
