Join us at Crowle Peatland Railway, where the history of peat extraction on Thorne & Crowle Moors comes alive. This free event celebrates our local heritage and will include engaging local history talks and exhibitions.

The Crowle Peatland Railway preserves and celebrates the industrial narrow-gauge railways that once served the peat extraction industry across Thorne and Crowle Moors. Our volunteer-run organisation is dedicated to conserving this important aspect of local heritage for future generations.

Event Highlights:
Historical Exhibitions: Explore compelling displays showcasing the transformation of our peatlands, the development of the railway, and the people who shaped this distinctive landscape over generations.

We are also hosting a specially created exhibition developed by North Lincolnshire Museum, marking the 400th anniversary of King Charles I signing his historic contract with Dutch engineer Cornelius Vermuyden to drain the Isle of Axholme and Hatfield Chase.
