Church Gresley Cemetery was developed throughout the 1870s. The first interment at the cemetery was recorded in 1880 and serves the village of Church Gresley and the nearby town of Swadlincote. There have been 2 subsequent extensions to the cemetery, first in 1937 which increased the size from 6.5 acres to 7.8 acres and then latterly in 1973 the cemetery was increased to it’s current size of approximately 10 acres.
