Denny Abbey and The Farmland Museum
Ely Road, Waterbeach, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, CB25 9PQ
Curious about the history of Denny Abbey and The Farmland Museum? There’s no better time to explore than during our Heritage Open Day on Saturday 20th September, with free admission for all!
Home to Benedictine Monks, Knights Templars and Franciscan Nuns, before becoming a farmhouse, the stories of Denny Abbey's inhabitants can be seen in its exposed pillars, beams and arches. The Farmland Museum sits in the grounds of Denny Abbey and showcases farming and domestic artefacts used in this part of the Cambridgeshire Fens up to the middle of the last century.
We’re thrilled to welcome the Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire Family History Society (CHFHS), who will be on site offering expert guidance to help you get started on researching your family tree.
Plus, enjoy a lively atmosphere with live music from Burwell Folk all day.
There is normally an admission charge to access the whole site, but for for one day only it's completely free.
If, like many people, you've driven past on the A10 for years and wondered what's here, now is the perfect chance to find out! Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a familiar face, come and enjoy a special day out. Why not invite a friend to join you for free?
