Dereham Windmill
Dereham Windmill, Greenfields Road, Dereham, Norfolk, NR20 3TE
Dereham Windmill is set in dog friendly grounds that are connected by a number of rural walks in and around the Dereham area.
Built in 1835, the windmill is a five-storey brick tower mill with a boat-shaped cap and a six-bladed fantail. The windmill was rescued from dereliction in the 1980s, but in 2010, all efforts to keep the mill open were unsuccessful, and it was boarded up. In 2011, a new group came forward, a board of trustees was formed, and the massive renovation project began. In 2013, after several years of fundraising, the mill was restored and reopened to visitors and to the local community as an Exhibition Centre. Exhibitions are held every month by local schools and artists.
Dereham Windmill is a registered charity and is run by a dedicated team of volunteers. Fundraising events are held throughout the year, and the money raised from these, along with our admission prices, goes towards ongoing maintenance work.

There is an onsite tearoom called the Partea Hut. The Partea Hut serve a range of drinks, light lunches, homemade scones and cakes in the tearoom, both inside and outside. A takeaway service is also available.
