Enjoy this guided walk along Stokes Bay, starting at the Diving Museum. You’ll pass great houses surrounded by a glorious open parkland and formal garden, and even discover chocolate blocks that you can't eat!

You'll learn from your Guide, Jackie, about the history of the Diving Museum housed within a Victorian gun battery and Grade II Listed building, and the importance of the forts in Gosport to the defence of this area. You’ll also hear about the role Stokes Bay played in D-Day and see the evidence left behind.

You'll find out the location of the old pier, which had a railway terminal. Find out if Queen Victoria ever used it?

Learn about the two great houses built in the 1830s and who owned them; uncover the history of which royalty lived here. Explore what is now Stanley Park and Osborn Gardens. Walk through the pinetum and see the pet cemetery. You’ll find out about the Gosport Tube, and its relevance to Alverbank House (now Alverbank Hotel) during WW1.

And, you will return along Stokes Bay to the start point by the Diving Museum.
