As part of this year's Heritage Open Days, we're opening the doors to our Castlecroft Sheds for a series of exclusive guided tours. Explore the areas where our historic locomotives are stored, maintained and lovingly restored, and gain a fascinating insight into the skills, craftsmanship and dedication of the volunteers who help keep our railway alive.
Each tour begins at Bury Bolton Street Station, lasts approximately 2 hours, and is limited to just 12 guests, ensuring a personal and immersive experience.

Places are limited to 12 participants per session. Advance booking is essential.
Your experience also includes a full-line return journey on any our standard service trains, allowing you to make the most of your day and discover everything the East Lancashire Railway has to offer. Please check timetables for all departure times and services.
• A train ride is included in the experience, please see on the day timetable for more information.
• 16 years old is the minimum age to take part in this event, proof of ID might be requested.
• Please ensure you are wearing suitable footwear such as walking boots.
• The tour includes an approximate 2 mile walk over rough ground
• Sandals or trainers will NOT be permitted.
• Only 2 tickets per person will be allocated
• This event is subject to availability and on a first come, first served basis.
