East Lancashire Railway Open Day

Step behind the scenes at the East Lancashire Railway and discover what it takes to keep our heritage railway running.

As part of this year's Heritage Open Days, we're opening the doors to our Castlecroft Sheds for a series of exclusive guided tours. Explore the areas where our historic locomotives are maintained and lovingly restored, and gain a fascinating insight into the skills, craftsmanship and dedication of the volunteers who help keep our railway alive.

Each tour begins at Bury Bolton Street Station, lasts approximately 2 hours, and is limited to just 12 guests, ensuring a personal and immersive experience.

Places are limited to 12 participants per session. Advance booking is essential.
