This special heritage event will explore now the east end of Eastbourne (The Roselands and St Anthonys area) was the industrial heart of the successful Victorian resort. Works in the area supplied Eastbourne's gas and electricity.

Works of the east-end supplied Eastbourne's gas and electricity. It was here where bricks were made and where cattle grazed to produce food and milk. Gravel was extracted to help build roads, laundries cleaned thousands of items of bed-linen from hotels and waist was dealt with at the Destructor Works. Later on, factories appeared makings items as diverse as railway lines for India and fish-fingers.
