Eastham woods was the location of an extensive Victorian Pleasure Gardens, from the 1840s to 1920s. On this walk you will learn the history of the Eastham Ferry and of the Pleasure Gardens’ attractions that captivated day trippers from Liverpool. These included floral and zoological gardens, circus acts, boating lake, water chute and loop-the-loop railway.
