Eboracum East Corner Tower Open Day

The remains of the Roman East Corner Tower of Eboracum will be open to visitors for the day. Come and meet the City of York Council Ancient Monuments Team and learn about the historic excavations carried Professor Steuart Miller 100 years ago and our research and management of the city walls today.

Open for drop-in 10:00-16:00, guided tours 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00

York Bar Walls Rampart, Gate beside the access stairs south-east of Monk Bar, What3Words: spice.pack.skinny, York, North Yorkshire, YO31 7PE

Directions:

To find us, walk through the gate next to the Bar Walls steps to the south-east of Monk Bar and walk along the rampart. Informal drop-in and meet the team 10:00-16:00, guided tours at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00 on 13/09/2026.

There is no parking on site. Accessibility is somewhat limited and may not be suitable for wheelchair users due to the presence of a step and uneven ground levels across a yard space and the turf of the city walls rampart.
