Escape Arts: Building Stories
Service Yard Off Sheep Street, Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwickshire, CV37 6EE
Join us at Escape Arts & Heritage Centre between 1:30 and 4:30pm on Saturday 13th and 20th September for a celebration of all things gargoyle as part of Heritage Open Days 2025. Pick up one of our two free self-guided Gargoyle Trail leaflets and head out to explore Stratford-upon-Avon’s hidden faces and intricate detailing. Choose from: The Clues Trail – a riddle-filled challenge for those who like to work things out (perfect for locals) or The Map Trail – a clear, easy-to-follow route around town for all ages.
Back at Escape Arts & Heritage Centre, enjoy a fun and family-friendly drop-in activity session. Get involved in: Gargoyle Drawing – take an A5 card with a building outline and add your own gargoyle design; and Roll-a-Gargoyle – roll the dice to choose its features, then draw your unique creation.
We will also be sharing our Lego town which as been created by visitors. You can add your own buildings and features and create a community vision of our town in Lego. Will it be cultural and historic or whacky and fun? We will also exhibit "A Part Meant For You" - blocks of flats created by our community groups in Nuneaton and Stratford, telling the stories of each floor and it's occupants. You can create your own storey story and add to the build.
Drinks and refreshments are also available. For more information, visit www.escapearts.org.uk.
