Discover the everyday lives of local people through hands-on exhibits, historic objects and fascinating stories. From coal miners and brass workers to schools and families, explore the past that shaped our community. History is closer than you think!

History isn't just about kings, queens and famous battles – it's about ordinary people and the lives they lived every day. This Heritage Open Days, discover the fascinating stories of the people who shaped Bristol and the surrounding communities.

Explore how local families lived, worked and travelled through the centuries. Step inside a reconstructed coal mine and learn about the harsh conditions endured by miners. Experience life during wartime in our recreated air raid shelter, and discover how children learned about road safety from our much-loved robot. See everyday household items, tools, toys and objects that tell the stories of work, home and community life.

Our exhibitions reveal how industries such as coal mining, brass making and engineering transformed the area, while our displays of local schools celebrate the lives of generations who called this place home.

Children can enjoy family-friendly activities designed to help them discover what everyday life was like in the past, while visitors of all ages are invited to share their own memories and stories, helping to preserve our community's heritage for future generations.

Whether you're uncovering local history for the first time or reminiscing about days gone by, Kingswood Heritage Museum offers a warm welcome and a chance to discover how the everyday lives of ordinary people have created the extraordinary history of our community.
