The exhibition will show two aspects of Ripon's War: the work of the School of Military Engineering; and the service and sacrifice of local people on land and sea. In addition an interactive map of all aspects of wartime Ripon will be available

The School of Military Engineering relocated to Ripon from Chatham for the duration of the War. It played a significant part in forging victory through its training of British and allied army engineers, and through the research, development and testing of new equipment.

Many Ripon citizens served in the armed forces and too many of them did not return. A number of personal histories will be revealed.
