Butcher’s Shop Tiles display at 6 Queen Street
A full-sized banner replica of the tiled panel once on display in a former butcher’s shop will be in place for the week. Measuring 15 feet by 3 feet the panel was made up of 150 hand-painted tiles produced by Maw & Co of Ironbridge, Shropshire. It shows a rustic scene of a cow and sheep in the countryside. The tiles were carefully removed in 1983 and are now on display at the Jackfield Works, part of the National Trust’s Ironbridge Gorge Museum.
