The original St Andrew's Churchyard. A peaceful place where there was once a lovely old Church built from Kentish Ragstone. Here visitors will find the grave of Dorothy Dickens, the resting place of Murder Victims and War Graves from WW1 and WW2.

St Andrew's Church was built in 1859 and was bombed in 1940. Left behind is a lovely area, where indigenous plants, trees and wildlife thrive undisturbed for most of the year. Part of the wall of the old St Andrews Church remains. Along with many interesting headstone designs of the 20s and 30s, there are 8 Commonwealth War Graves. Four soldiers from WW1 lie buried here.
Three of the WW1 burials are in private family graves , whilst the fourth has a Commonwealth War Graves Commission headstone..
The four WW2 graves represent the Marines, Air Force, Royal Artillery and an Army Ambulance driver.
Dorothy Dickens, granddaughter of Charles Dickens is buried here. She lived in Paddock Wood and died in 1930.
Victims of a high profile murder case in 1940 are also buried here. It happened at Crittenden in Matfield.
Family of Lt Gen Sir Frederick Morgan of D Day fame, for example his grandparents Elizabeth and Edgeworth Horrocks of Mascalls are here too.
The area is of historical interest particularly to those researching family history, WW1 & WW2 or Charles Dickens. The area is also of great environmental interest. There will be guides available on Saturday 19th September but it is open every day to visitors.
