This three-hour guided walk will explore Felixstowe’s long and important defensive story, from the strategic position of Landguard Point at the entrance to Harwich Harbour through to the wider coastal landscape stretching towards Felixstowe Ferry. Along the route, Michael will highlight key places, events and features connected with the area’s military past, including coastal defence, invasion threats, wartime activity and the changing role of this part of the Suffolk coast.
