Guided Walks on Landguard Nature Reserve
Landguard Fort, View Point Road, Felixstowe, Suffolk, IP11 3TW
Join us for a guided walk around Landguard Nature Reserve, one of Suffolk’s most distinctive coastal landscapes. Sitting at the southern tip of Felixstowe, where the River Orwell meets the sea, the reserve is home to rare vegetated shingle, acid grassland, wildflowers, migrating birds and a fascinating range of coastal wildlife.
Led by a knowledgeable guide, the walk will explore the natural history of the reserve, its important habitats, and the conservation work needed to protect this special place. You will also hear about the reserve’s military and maritime setting, with views towards Landguard Fort, Harwich Harbour and the Port of Felixstowe.
The walk will be at a gentle pace and will last approximately 90 minutes. Please wear suitable footwear and dress for the weather, as the site is exposed and paths may be uneven.
