From Arnold House to Mariner's Score - a virtual walk down part of the historic High Street

Using past and present images of Lowestoft High Street we will stop and look at some of the buildings found in this part of the street - those still standing and those long gone; we will highlight key architectural features and what these reveal about the people who lived and/or worked in these buildings in times gone by. Through maps, old and new photographs, drawings and etchings we will investigate the outsides and, in some cases, the insides of some of Lowestoft's most iconic houses and what changes have taken place over time.
We will discuss which properties have survived, which have been lost and what adaptations have been needed to suit our ways of life in modern times.
