From Field to Table - Ash Through the Ages (Exhibition)

Ash Village Hall, Queens Road, Ash, Kent, CT3 2BG

  • Multiple dates available

A dedicated exhibition displaying photos, maps and artefacts linked to Ash bakers, butchers, grocers and publicans that formed a key part of everyday village life.

Step into the story of Ash and discover how everyday life was shaped by the essential trades that kept the village running. From the rhythms of farming and harvest to the skill of baking bread, preparing meat, stocking shelves and serving in the local pub, this event traces the journey of food and community from field to table.

Through the lens of four key trades—bakers, butchers, grocers and publicans, you’ll uncover how villagers worked, shopped, socialised and sustained one another. Meet the people behind the produce, explore the processes behind the products, and gain a deeper appreciation for the interconnected lives that formed the backbone of village life in Ash.

To bring the story to life, visitors can take part in a self-guided QR trail around the village, explore a dedicated exhibition in the Heritage Centre, and purchase a souvenir booklet to continue the journey beyond the event. (Please see separate event listing for further details on the self-guided walk)
