‘From Tip to Trail’ a New Walking and Cycling Trail from Oughtibridge to Deepcar

Ash Close, Wharncliffe Side, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S35 0BY

  • 16 Sep 2025
  • In person
  • Pre-booking required

Explore the next planned route of the Upper Don Trail and safer links to the Trans Pennine Trail on a journey of contrasts between Wharncliffe Side and Deepcar.

Learn about our ambitious plans to restore 100 acres of damaged Green Belt for wildlife, climate change resilience, active travel and public enjoyment.

The walk will pass through the forgotten industrial moonscapes (now rapidly re-wilding) of Deepcar Brickworks, More Hall Tips and Wraggs Quarry - but will also take in the spectacular valley landscape, unspoilt river banks, the beautiful Wharncliffe Woods and involve dragons, mines, orchids, a dashing C18th lady, the birthplace of English climbing and much more.
