This short, guided walk around the Kenwood Hall Hotel’s grounds, and Kenwood Hall, talks about George Wolstenholm, one of the shrewdest, most enterprising, hard-headed and successful of Sheffield’s manufacturers .He produced Pen and Pocket knives, Table, Butchers’, Bowie, Shoe and Farriers’ knives, Scissors, Razors, as well as his celebrated I*XL cutlery. Kenwood Hall was designed by William Flockton, built by local builder, Thomas Steade, and the grounds were laid out by Robert Marnock.

Time permitting, we’ll have a brief look around the grounds before looking at some beautiful carvings inside George Wolstenholm’s 19th century house.

The event finishes with the opportunity to attend a talk by Andy Kershaw and colleagues on Stan Smith, the little mester who was recently honoured with a bust at Kelham Island Museum.
