Living history in Spencer's Yard of Georgian Life.

At Spencer's Yard, there is a reconstructed cottage and outbuildings, furnished and detailing village life in the Peak District during the mid-18th century. There will be costumed interpreters.

Early Victorian shepherd's hut on display with shepherds' tools and artefacts of the time. Old local shepherd's smock, kindly recently donated, on display in the Victorian Shepherd hut from the same date, late 19th century.)

We also have a Gypsy grinding barrow on display (1900s) in the yard

Accessibility details

On a slope and on uneven ground, so not wheelchair accessible. There are no toilets but the toilets will be open at the village hall, where there will be cakes and teas for sale.

Additional information

Refreshments and toilets ( which include baby change) can be found in Cavendish Village Hall , Beeley. Parking can be found on Pig Lane
