A new and imaginative local history exhibition providing a glimpse of life in Great Ellingham during the 1930s and 1940s

The many local history displays will feature some of the day-to-day life of our village people, the events and happenings of the times. Visitors will be able to view most of the names of the villagers listed on the 1939 Register.

The inspired exhibition will also touch on Great Ellingham during the Second World War, including Deopham Green Airfield, evacuees, Home Guard recollections, blackout infringements and the 1942 Invasion Committee Records. There will also be a new and impressive themed ‘back drop’ display.

Great Ellingham’s Detecting Guy, Matt Hall, will also be in attendance with some of the amazing archaeological finds from the local area, including WWII objects.

Our younger visitors have not been forgotten. Table top activities will be available.
