Grim, Havelok and the Vikings are back... and this time they've brought their friends. Join our free family history trail and meet the Tudors, Victorians and more who put the Great into Grimsby. With parade, displays and children's activities.

Join an exciting, time-travelling adventure as characters from Grimsby's past take to the streets. Explore the town centre and meet Grim, Havelok and the Vikings at the legendary Viking Village by the waterfront, the trailblazing Tudor at Minster Square, Victorian steam train entrepreneur, Music Hall showman, Suffragette, Navy girl hero who saved the fleet single handed and many more.

With live music through the decades, afternoon Parade, free children's arts activities and the amazing Havelok's Viking Village, the big screen digital Immersive journey in the time of the Vikings.

And pre-book to join local historian and author Emma Lingard for a special guided tour, find out more about just some of the characters who put the 'great' into 'Grimsby'

As part of the wider event, join local historian and author Emma Lingard for a guided walk around Grimsby town centre. Find out more about the people who influenced the development of Grimsby and were the trailblazers of their day. The tour is on flat surface around the town centre and will take around an hour. Pre-booking of these walking tours is preferred

The event takes place with Viking Village by the waterfront, stalls at Riverhead Square and history trail around the town centre, including Freshney Place Shopping Centre with facililities.

Additional information

The event takes place around the town centre which is currently undergoing regeneration works - a chance to see the old disappearing and the new to come. Viking Village is at the waterfront with Riverhead Square hosting stalls and entertainment, Freshney Place Shopping Centre with free arts activities for children, displays and characters from the past around the town centre. Visitors can collect a map and 'Time Travellers Passport' from the information desk at Riverhead.
