Step back in time and discover the remarkable history of HAPPA during this fascinating Heritage Open Day at Shores Hey Farm.

Enjoy a guided tour of The Evolution of Equine Welfare Museum, followed by an engaging presentation exploring the Charity’s journey across its 89-year history. Learn how HAPPA grew from its humble beginnings campaigning to end the transportation of horses and ponies to the continent for slaughter, into a leading equine welfare charity that has rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed thousands of horses, ponies and donkeys.

During the session, you will:

- Explore the history and development of equine welfare in the UK.
- Learn about key legislative changes that have helped improve the lives of equines over the decades.
- Discover how HAPPA’s work has evolved to meet changing welfare needs.
- Hear the stories behind some of the Charity’s most significant and memorable rescue cases.

Directions:
Follow the M65 towards Burnley and then continue towards Briercliffe. HAPPA is a short drive from Burnley town centre. There are signs outside the turn into site from the main road.
