Guided Walk: Railway Heritage of Potteric Carr
Potteric Carr Nature Reserve, Mallard Way, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, DN4 8DB
From the mid-19th Century, the railway network expanded and developed immensely throughout Britain, reflecting the national industrial changes just like those taking place in and around Doncaster. We will see how the railways grew, what changes they made to the landscape and how they indirectly preserved the remnant flora and fauna that had existed in parts of the local area for millennia. An accidental partnership of railways and reserves resulting in the beautiful site we have today.
