Halesworth History Exchange – Everyday Histories

The Magickal Emporium, 1 Market Place, Halesworth, Suffolk, IP19 8BA

  • 15 Sep 2026
  • | In person
  • | Pre-booking not required
  • | Workshop

Drop-in sessions to find out about the everyday histories of people, buildings and businesses in Halesworth. Come along to see what is held in the Halesworth History Map and maybe contribute your own memories of the town.

Simon Parker is a member of the Halesworth U3A Local History Group and a volunteer at Halesworth & District Museum. He launched the Halesworth History Map project during the Heritage Open Day season in 2025 and the records held in the system have doubled since then to over 25000.

The History Map has a lot of information about ‘Everyday Histories’, but we’re always interested in capturing more and providing a permanent resource for further research.

The content of the sessions will depend on the interests of the people who attend – what they want to discover and what memories they can contribute to the record. Drop in at any point during the sessions and drop out when you’re done!
