The Curtis Museum brings you “Hands That Made History”: Craft, labour, and life —history you can touch!

A Day for all the family to enjoy simple-hands on historical tasks, demonstrations and workshops. Get involved with back-strap weaving, make a medieval clay tile, dig for treasure and learn all about how our ancestors’ used tools, medicine and skills in everyday life:

• Medieval clay tile workshop
• Anglo-Saxon herb-craft
• Early Medieval Social History and Weaponry displays from local re-enactment groups – WEOROD and Herigeas Hundas
• Flint knapping demonstration by a local archaeologist
• Archaeological Dig Pits
• Back-Strap weaving demonstration and activity
• Local metal detecting finds stand
