To celebrate this year’s Heritage Open Day theme of Architecture, we are showcasing our beautiful Audley Chapel. Join Cathedral Archivist, Elizabeth Semper O’Keefe, for a free talk and tour of the Audley Chapel.

To celebrate this year’s Heritage Open Day theme of Architecture, we are showcasing our beautiful Audley Chapel.

The Audley Chapel is a chantry chapel located within the Lady Chapel at the east end of the cathedral, build c.1500 by Bishop Audley. The Audley Chapel is built over two floors, the lower containing stained glass by Thomas Traherne and the upper is covered by a star-patterned fan vaulted ceiling.

Join Cathedral Archivist, Elizabeth Semper O’Keefe, for a free talk and tour of the Audley Chapel. These scheduled talks will be at 10am, 11am and 12noon and will last approximately 20 minutes and are free, with advance booking recommended via the website. Hereford Cathedral will also be open for visiting throughout the day with our regular cathedral tours and tower tours available to book via the website.

The event will take place inside Hereford Cathedral. Once inside, please head to the east end by the Lady Chapel, where staff will be there to greet you.
