Join us to hear from local experts, biographers, & historical institutions.
The History of the Dad's Army Van – Chris from The Dad's Army Museum will talk about the making of the book ‘Jone's Van The Journey’ & how the research was conducted.
Brief History of Thetford & Its Regalia - Stuart Wright, a long serving town councillor & keen amateur historian will give a brief overview of the history of Thetford, from pre-historic times to the present day. The talk will feature the town’s regalia including the mayoral chain and the ceremonial sword
Charles Burrell Museum – History of the Burrell Works & Family from a blacksmiths to making steam engines. How this family transformed the prosperity of the town.
RAF Honington – History of the RAF Regiment (Presented by the Manager of the RAF Regiment Heritage Centre at RAF Honington. Exploring the origins of the Corps formed in 1942 to defend RAF airfields, its evolution through WWII & modern operational history.
