Thetford Open Studios
Thetford Methodist Hall, Tanner Street, Thetford, Norfolk, IP24 2BQ
For Heritage Open Days 2026, we’re hosting an expanded Thetford Open Studios event in the heart of Thetford town centre.
Thetford Open Studios is once again proud to be part of this nationally celebrated annual event. This year, we move to a larger, fully accessible venue—Thetford Methodist Hall—right in the centre of town. Many of our makers will be demonstrating their craft (check our schedule closer to the time), and visitors will also have the chance to get hands-on and try for themselves.
We’re especially excited to embrace this year’s Everyday Histories theme, which perfectly reflects what we do. A highlight will be our Maker’s Tool Board, where artists share their favourite tools and the stories behind them—revealing connections between traditional skills and contemporary making.
Once the ancient capital of East Anglia, Thetford is an historic market town set within the unique Brecks landscape. Surrounded by England’s largest lowland forest and rich in heritage—from its rivers, wildlife and architecture to its museums (Ancient House, Charles Burrell and Dad’s Army), three statues (Thomas Paine, Duleep Singh and Captain Mainwaring) —the town continues to inspire our makers and their work.
Come along to meet local artists and makers, explore their work, and enjoy a creative day out.
This is a completely FREE event, with artwork and handmade items also available to purchase.
