Led by experts in the collections team, delve into a treasure trove of objects from Wakefield’s past. Find out how our team keep them safe.

Finish with a quick look at some highlights from the collections. These include treasures from our social history, archaeology and costume collections. Be amazed by medieval stonework, world-leading sports equipment, and fantastic plastics!

These tours are part of Heritage Open Days.

The tours on Friday and the 10am Tour on Saturday are for adults only (18+)
The 11.30am tour on Saturday is for families with children aged 8+
Pre booking is required

Access: Please let us know any access requirements you have when booking.

Information about how to reach the Museum Store will be shared with ticket holders around two weeks before the event date. The Museum Store can both be reached by public transport (bus) and parking is available.

Friday 18 September:

1100-1200 & 1400-1500 (both tours age 18+)

Saturday 19 September:

1000-1100 (18+), 1130-1230 (8+)
