History tours of Ossett Town Hall by Ossett Civic Society

First opened in 1908, the impressive grade 2 listed Ossett Town Hall is an historical gem. Find out more about the stories behind this beautiful building, which was funded by public subscription from the people of Ossett, with members of Ossett Civic Society. The tours will include the former council chamber, public hall and old court room, which housed the borough court until 1974. Take in the historic tiles, decorative stained glass and hear some of the stories behind the civic portraits hanging on the walls. Tours will run at 11am and 1pm. Tours will start at the main entrance to the Town Hall from Ossett Market Place.

Directions:
The town hall is located in the market square in the centre of Ossett. There square is pedestrianised so there is no parking at the town hall itself, but there are a number of public pay and display car parks close by.

Accessibility details

There is wheelchair access to the town hall, but some of the spaces included in the tour are unfortunately not wheelchair accessible due to the nature of the historic building.
