A self-guided walk to explore the history of Ash. Learn about architectural and hidden features that tell the story of some of the village's interesting buildings and which draw attention to details you may have seen but never noticed.

Take a closer look at the breadth of architecture and building features within Ash. Our self guided walk draws on a number of interesting buildings in the village which show case some truly fascinating features telling their story. Learn some history, interesting facts and features of what you walk past but perhaps haven't noticed before. We'll be sharing with you all sorts including chimneys, wall ties, brickwork, weathervanes, benchmarks, graffiti and more.

During the festival, a map will be available free via digital download, with QR codes around the village giving access to information about buildings and their features. A souvenir booklet will be available to purchase from AHG archive room where there will be much more to see and find out about 19th and 20th September 1000 - 1400.

The walk will take you along the main route through Ash where there are narrow paths and some areas without. Please be mindful when taking part, and note that those who participate are responsible for their own safety.
