The only remaining thatched building in Hinckley, dating from c1680, and now housing a museum illustrating aspects of the history of Hinckley and district. Cottage garden and tearoom.

2026 displays include the Battle of Bosworth 1485; Notable Hinckley Personalities in the English Civil Wars 1642-1651; The Miracles of Merevale Avenue: 85th anniversary of the Merevale Avenue bombing of 16/17th May 1941; The Rotary Club of Hinckley 1926 – 2026 a century of service; Excavations at Aston Flamville Manor House by Hinckley Archaeological Society; Suffolk Pointe Co. Ltd., ballet shoe manufacturers based in Earl Shilton; 1740 framework knitting machine and collection of working hosiery machines.
Tearoom serving Fairtrade drinks and snacks.Children`s dressing up area and Victorian style toys to play with.

Near town centre and located opposite The Atkins Building and the Hinckley campus of the North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College. On Stagecoach 148 and Arriva 159 bus route to and from Leicester, Nuneaton and Coventry. Railway station (Leicester to Birmingham line) short walk away. Pay and display carpark adjacent to the museum cottages (free on Sunday 20th September).
