Hogsmill Historical Walk

Bourne Hall, Spring Street, Ewell, Surrey, KT17 1UF

  • 16 Sep 2025
  • In person
  • Pre-booking required

It is rare to find a water course with so many fascinating stories to tell. Come and hear more by walking along the Hogsmill with Tricia.

Take a stroll along the Hogsmill River downstream from its source - from the springs at Bourne Hall in Ewell, past the old corn mills recorded in the Domesday Book, to the site of the 18th century gunpowder mills at Ewell Court. Enjoy the unique character of this rare chalk stream, a landscape which inspired 19th century Pre-Raphaelite artists John Everett Millais and William Holman Hunt to use as a backdrop for their masterpieces.
