Jesmond Dene Real Tennis Club is a Grade II listed building. It is a Victorian Real Tennis court built in what was then the garden of Jesmond Dene House in 1894.
The house was owned by Sir Andrew Noble who was a partner in Lord Armstrong's world famous engineering business: Armstrong Whitworth. Jesmond Dene House is now a boutique hotel.
The Real Tennis Court is one of 27 Real Tennis courts in the UK and is in daily use by members of Jesmond Dene Real Tennis Club. Real Tennis is the original racket sport!
It is hoped that a match between players from Scotland and England will take place on Saturday 19th Sept.
