Left But Not Forgotten: The Children of the Foundling Hospital
The Bluecoat, Upper Northgate Street, Chester, Cheshire, CH1 4EE
Foundlings were children, often illegitimate, who had been abandoned as babies by their parents or who risked being so. In this poignant talk, author Dr. Anthony Annakin-Smith looks at the experiences of the children before, during and after their years of care by the ground-breaking Foundling Hospital, including how they were looked after in Chester’s Bluecoat building and surrounding villages.
The talk is approximately an hour from 11am- 12pm to be followed by questions and a book signing.
The Bluecoat will also be open for three booked talk and tours on Thursday 17 September at 11am, 1pm and 3pm that are approximately 40 minutes long.
The tours are bookable on Eventbrite from Monday 24 August at 12pm.
Come and discover stories of the Chester Bluecoat's history and enjoy a tour of the Bluecoat building.
