Last opened for Heritage Open Days in 2018, Elton House is in the very centre of Bath, close to the Abbey. Originally one of Georgian Bath's many lodging houses, this fine Georgian building is now cared for by the Landmark Trust

A rare chance to see inside Elton House, which is normally let for holidays by the Landmark Trust. Following recent upgrade works in 2025, this favourite Landmark will be open to the public on the weekend of Saturday 19 - Sunday 20 September, 10am-4pm.

Elton House is a historic building in Bath, originally built around 1700 and later expanded by Elizabeth and Jacob Elton. It was created to house wealthy visitors who came to Bath to take the waters. By 1750, it had become a grand building with several floors, beautiful staircases, and fine woodwork to accommodate the affluent Georgians. Over time, the fashionable crowd moved further up the hill, and part of the ground floor became a shop, while the rest of the house stayed the same.

Information on the building's history and our knowledgeable staff will be on hand.
