His talk is a laugh-a-minute tour of the quirks, foibles, highs and lows of his time running Britain’s highest inn (located at Tan Hill in Swaledale) back in the 1970s/1980s, grappling with tight-fisted farmers, eccentric characters, bizarre local customs, naturist weekends, “lates and lock-ins”, police raids, rats in the attic, close encounters with magistrates and planners, and the shooting of a famous double-glazing commercial.

Wed 17th Sept, 1900-2030. Talk. Speaker: local historian, David Pinder. Talk: Mirfield and the West Riding Between the Normans and the Roundheads.

Fri 19th Sept, 1030–1200. Talk: Mirfield Drama Federation's Theatre Festival in May 1954. Speaker: Frank Wright. Held at the House of the Resurrection, Quarry Theatre, some amazing historical events will be recounted.
