Missing Mansion and Lost Highway - Bidston Court Gardens & Thermopylae Pass

A short walk exploring the local landscape history. We will walk up the enigmatic ‘Thermopylae’ Pass: historic hollow-way, examine the substantial infrastructure installed for Victorian high-end housing development and walk through the landscaped grounds of the mansion which was moved piece-by-piece across the Wirral in the early 20th Century.
Guided walk – some rough ground, uphill sections and steps. Bring waterproofs and wear appropriate footwear.
Meet at the junction of Windermere Road and Upton Road. Approximately CH43 9RE.
Street Parking – please park respectfully.
Length of walk approximately 1 km, involves 50m ‘ascent’ and return.
