Experience the wonderful community spirit and Arts and Crafts splendour of Moor Pool Estate, the hidden Garden Suburb a stone's throw from Birmingham City Centre. Our Heritage Festival delivers a village fete vibe near the heart of the City!

Sunday 14th September, is a unique opportunity to discover the Moor Pool Estate, one of the last remaining intact Garden Suburbs in the UK and one of Birmingham's best-kept secrets.

The festival kicks off at 11am with a range of activities to entertain the whole family.
- Explore this year's theme of architecture at Moor Pool, finding out about the past and present of this Arts & Crafts Estate celebrating its design, makers and materials.

We have a packed programme highlighting the range of exciting activities that regularly take place around the Estate including Sovereign Brass Band playing at the Circle and a variety of other performances and demos.
- Regular clubs will be open on the day, and visitors will have the chance to try their hand at the sporting activities, including Edwardian skittles, bowling, tennis and snooker.
- Enjoy homemade cakes and homegrown produce, and learn more about the wide range of events which take place at Moor Pool throughout the year, including taster sessions and demos from Line Dancing, Bilinguasing, the Strings Club, Capoeira and Mini Athletics, and many others. There will be fun for all the family!
- Craft, build a clay house, seed bombing and face-painting at the Carless Eco Centre, follow the Bug Hotel Trail & across the Estate and Nettlefold Garden, lego corner and history displays at Moor Pool Hall and Estate Office.

Directions:
Performances and demos will take place throughout the day at Moor Pool Hall in the Main Hall. Additional activities take place in the Lower Hall, and the Estate Office and Brass Band will be playing at the Circle. Other activities and trails take place across the Estate and at the Carless Eco Centre (off Wentworth Gate), Nettlefold Garden (corner of Margaret Grove & Moor Pool Avenue) , Bowling Club located off Moor Pool Avenue. Parking is limited to street parking with wider roads on Wentworth Road or Ravenhurst Road. Harborne High Street is 10 minute walk and we encourage coming by foot.

Accessibility details

Events as part of Moor Pool's Heritage Festival take place across the Moor Pool Estate, which is 54 acres in size. The area is undulating, but the majority of the Estate is accessible to all. There are some steps to access some areas of the Estate, and some areas have uneven surfaces which visitors should be aware of. There is wheelchair access to Moor Pool Hall at the side entrance.

Additional information

Parking is also available on Ravenhurst Road and nearby Harborne High Street, which is a 10 minute walk from Moor Pool. Street parking is available but limited as the streets are very narrow.
